11/26/2007 - It's not fantastic to look at from the outside, and the rooms are pretty plain. However, the fact that you can walk fewer than 30 paces from your room to the beach along the Gulf of Mexico makes up for that. The landscaping is nice, and I enjoyed the outdoor seating area. It would be better described as a motel, as there are outside entrances from both the rear and the front of the room. Overall, it's OK, and I'd stay there again for the convenient access to the beach. The staff is very, very freindly. Posted by Matt (Molene, IL) |

Situated on a 600-foot stretch of white-sand beach, The Helmsley Sandcastle offers one of Florida's most intriguing locations. The hotel overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and is within walking distance of St. Armand's Circle with its fine shopping and dining.
